Im considering the Quadro 4000 for my 2008 Mac Pro, Ive searched and that seems to be the best for using with the CS6 suite. The higher end nvidia cards seem to only work on PC :(, anyone think the 4000 is a bad choice? I am basically fixing up my computer best I can until Apple releases new ones.
Thanks again!

wow, I just checked out Newton, looks awesome! Is it pretty easy to figure out? Dynamics was one of the reasons I have been learning Maya, but this plugin seems to do it all! With the new ray trace features in CS6 and with this powerful plugin I can do everything I want!
Thanks for sharing!

wow, thanks everyone! I was about to give up and use the zaxwerks plugin! I’ve been using AE for a long time, but have never used that convert to shape layers option! I am sooo happy to have learned a new thing. I had attemoted to copy the paths and that didn’t work, but the converting to shape layers worked perfectly! Now to get a new graphics card to handle the render haha… 8 hours for 10 seconds! yikes 🙂
Thanks for all your time! Much appreciated!

Thanks for the response! I appreciate it!
Ya, I have been playing with moving video and Moasic and cell pattern. Still can’t get those cool quick transitions though. Like the very first few frames.
I think by getting some animated video and doing some masking and animation in one comp, then bringing into a second comp and adding the mosaic onto that will give a cool look. lots of possibilities, just wondering if anyone has done this and had some brilliant advice 🙂
I will keep playing! All advice is welcome!!! 🙂

thanks for the response. I need to use the plugin since all the footage I am upconverting just came on a hardrive, so need for decks or cards.
I had a friend try the same plugin and he had the same problem. I think I will just have to bring the footage in through AE, or switch back to using Avid as I have plugins that work better in Avid.
thnx

OK, I seem to have answered my own question.
Now I am having aproblem with markers. I went through all my Multiclips I made (13) and I made markers for the section I like and the best cuts. I spent 2 hours doing this. I went back and selected “Open” for the sync so I could change the audio source and then all my markers went away. ANy work around for this? Am I missing something?

January 14, 2010 at 10:57 pm in reply to: how to create organic fluid lines in after effectsalso: My next thought is to maybe use 3D stroke or form to create a few different variations of a line moving, put the anchor point at the tip of one line and motion track to the asterisk, the create a word and motion track that to the other end oft he line. This may do the job (except not sure how accurate the track will be), but i was wondering if anyone might have any other ideas on how to create this look, maybe there is a better way I am not thinking of? I do not have a large expression library so maybe someone might know of one that would work better? any thoughts???
(the effect I am trying to create sort of: https://www.yuco.com )
thanks!
