Same issue here with fcpx. However did a job last week in PP and had NO playback issues using the same hardware. Love using X but there is nothing pro about this playback issue especially when working with client in the room

  • I am also getting 3 to 4 crashes a day with bmd driver being the cause. Way more crashing since the update to latest fcpx Also has the sticking playback issue mentioned a few weeks ago. If I kill AV output then it plays down fine. Did not see this issue in a PP project I did last week so looks like the sticky playback is an fcpx thing. Super annoying to have to start playback two and three times with a client in session. Or just always start 30 seconds back from the edit point to make sure everything is running properly. Kinda bs. Also went back three versions of bmd driver and not sure that is helping at all. Also looking at t tap as an option. Do you still get sticky playback with t tap in X?

  • Hi Joe. Do you use an external 4K monitor? I am looking to upgrade and wondering if I can send 4K hdmi to one monitor and 1080 HD to my grading monitor at the same time with bmd 4K io box

Actually trying to monitor VITC coming out of FCPX over HD-SDI. Not going into FCPX.

Is anyone using an I/O device that is not thunderbolt and getting this issue?

    23.98 most of the time.

Yep I always make sure my project aka sequence has the same settings as those in BMD video desktop before launching X.

  • Did you get this sorted? I have experienced dropped frames as well. Sometimes a full reboot helps. Sometimes not. I wonder if a T-Tap has the same issue?

Hi Keith – Were you ever able to get this to work? Have used the Sugar plug for sub-titles, however it does not do CC. I have to deliver 10 episodes and it would be nice to stay in X. Perhaps its time to crack out the old version of Compressor!
