August 18, 2012 at 1:27 pm in reply to: Low audio level when recording through microphoneHi Dave,
Thanks again for your clear explanation.
I am an enthusiast, looking for better equipment as possible, but that fits in my low budged. Do you have any suggestion about what could be a good mic to be used at “home”, to record voice over/narration?
Recently I bought a ZoomH1 and the recorder has the feature of act as an USB mic. But so far, after tests, I couldn’t obtain a good audio from the USB feature, but as a recorder, the ZoomH1 deliveries a good audio. Maybe I could use it (attached to an lav mic) as an reasonable workaround. What do you think?

August 18, 2012 at 1:18 pm in reply to: About audio levels (mic sensibilty) to be recorded and edited.Hi Dave,
Thanks for clear explanation.
Beside the care of recording at a higher level as possible, I am taking the idea that is better to record audio in 24bit than 16bit, specially in my case (inexperience!), since I will get more “room” to audio editing in post.

Hi Mike! Thanks for answering.
It seems the double (or even triple) process I was adopting is the way…
=> When saving the file, Rx provides three options (Dither Modes: None (Truncate) / White Noise (TPDF) / MBIT+).
I am processing the audio outside Vegas and then importing into it. Do you recommend/have preference on one of these modes?

Thanks for information!
It is all I need to clarify the product features.

Hi Peter,
Thanks for information again!
I am investing on RED5 bearing in mind it is the most balanced featured product from Boris. Am I right about that?
Otherwise, BCC seems to provide great tools as well.
Also, it seems there are much overlap of RED5 and BCC features. Do you know what would be the basic differences between RED5 and BCC?
Cheers,

Hi Peter,
It seems BCC Flicker Fixer isn’t available at RED5 bundle, is it?
So far I couldn’t find that…Thanks,
Carlos -
Thanks for information Peter!
Just to clarify, could I deal with some contrast adjustment by using BCC 3 Way Color Grade, or to that should I use another filter?
Cheers,

August 9, 2012 at 4:58 pm in reply to: PluralEyes + Vegas => Ways of working with the synced video+audioHi,
After some test I am considering that deal with .veg project as nested into a main project could not be a big deal.
Each time I open the main project (where are all the seven .veg projects in which video+audio were synced) there is a time to render the nested (.veg) files. It is already annoying. Besides, it is created a huge “.sfap0” file.
I am thinking to render the synced video+audio and then import as media to Vegas (not using anymore the nested .veg projects).
=> Considering this “rendering” scenario, is it possible to obtain an output file that has same quality (or very closer) of the original footage (AVHCD, .mts, 1920×720, 59.940p)?

August 9, 2012 at 12:03 pm in reply to: PluralEyes + Vegas => Ways of working with the synced video+audioThanks Aleksey!
I will go ahead with the experiments by using some .veg projects into the main project. I am supposing to handle a .veg or a raw media should produce the same output, isn’t it? Would be any disadvantage on editing the .veg files instead of the media file (.m2ts) directly?
Ps.: It seems DualEyes generate a new file with replaced audio just to either .avi or .mov files.
