Speed up/down playback keeping the voice pitch
Any – even minimal – speed up/down in Vegas playback speed mess with the voice pitch, bringing distortion (i.e. voices like Darth Vader or Mickey Mouse).
Many users need to speed up/down Vegas playback speed in their workflows (see links below for detailed use cases), but the distortion in voice pitch is a huge shortcoming currently.
Adobe Premiere allows a much smoother playback when speeding up/down speed, keeping voice pitch. Vegas could do the same (actually, if the clip is time stretched in time line, Vegas plays with amazing voice pitch control. However, the current suggestion is that the great work Vegas already does with time stretched clips also become available when changing just the playback the speed).

Motion Tracker
Currently I need BCC Motion Tracker plugin.
Actually, even with BCC there is some issues, since BCC just works with first clip in the timeline. To motion tracker in other parts of timeline, you need to create one project with BCC Motion Tracker, importing it into another one, as a nested project. A bit cumbersome.
So, it would be great Vegas having an in-built Motion Tracker feature.
Even consumer grade video editing software (e.g. PowerDirector, Premiere Elements, Corel VideoStudio) can do that nowadays.

Audio/Video Sync
Currently I need PluralEyes plugin for doing Audio/Video Sync in Vegas (i.e. sync video from DSLR and audio from external audio recorder).
It could be a Vegas in-built feature. Even consumer grade video editing software (e.g. PowerDirector) can do that nowadays.
Thanks,

June 1, 2016 at 11:28 am in reply to: Possible playback 1.5x with pitch automatically adjusted by Vegas? Thanks for reply!
I read the following thread (https://forums.creativecow.net/thread/3/926993), what led me to try Adobe Premiere. When I adjust playback speed in Premiere by hitting L key, it is quite smooth, causing minimum voice pitch distortion in comparison to Vegas in which hit L key mess the pitch = Mickey Mouse voice!
Do you know if Vegas provide any way to playback faster keeping voice pitch, but without the need to change event properties (i.e. clip speed, event duration)?
Many thanks,

October 30, 2015 at 1:56 pm in reply to: Automated Dialogue/Speech Alignment feature in Vegas Pro/Sound Forge? Thanks all of you for the replies and directions!
Indeed I am looking for software which “stretch the audio to keep it aligned all the way through”.
I have Pluraleyes v2 plugin in Vegas and I didn’t know newer version of Pluraleyes could handle “audio stretch”. I will take a look and see if the upgrade is worth.

January 6, 2015 at 3:24 pm in reply to: Transferring Vegas settings + customized interface & toolbar through different user accountsHi Russ,
Thanks for your reply.
Actually, I could achieve the customization transfer through the process described below, which was informed by the Vegasaur support (by the way this is a handy tool for Vegas and the guys there are quite attentions with users!)
“Vegas stores toolbar customizations in the file tbmappings.dat, under C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Sony\Vegas Pro\13.0\
You must also copy this registry key (otherwise this doesn’t work):Â HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Sony Creative Software\Vegas Pro\13.0\Metrics\Application\B300
Close all copies of the program before you copy the files!”So I did the following to achieve the transfer:
a) From windows search type ‘regedit’ (withouth quotes) + Enter.
b) From the regedit left pane navigate to: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Sony Creative Software\Vegas Pro\13.0\Metrics\Application
c) Right click on the “Application” folder and “Export”. This will create a REG file with the settings (choose where to save in order to be accessible to other user accounts and/or different computer).
d) From the other user account and/or computer just double click the file. The magic is done!Best,

September 22, 2014 at 9:55 pm in reply to: Plugin suggestion: Callouts for Vegas Pro 64 bit?Hi guys!
I am just wondering if you have any news about Vegas plugin for handling callouts and other screencast resources.
I’ve started a thread at Boris forum and it seems there are useful resources using BCC. Anyway, some simpler plugin as Ripple Callouts would be a dream into Vegas workflow.

September 22, 2014 at 9:50 pm in reply to: Boris plugin for mouse pointer animation/effects and other screencast resourcesHi Jon,
Thanks for answer!
a) I will try the BCC Ripple filter. Is it possible to change the color of the ripple from transparent to blue, red or yellow?
b) I found quite interesting the Ripple Callouts plugin for Final Cut: https://www.rippletraining.com/categories/plugins-and-templates/callouts/callouts-for-final-cut-pro-x.html
Does Boris provide similar Ripple Callouts functionality?Best,

August 11, 2014 at 3:20 pm in reply to: Free Video/Audio Converter and Video Editor software for Windows & Mac. Any suggestion? Thanks everybody for answers.
Although Vegas is my pick personal usage, I intend to teach the basics of video editing for a teenager class.
About video editors I found useful the software Ezvid https://www.ezvid.com since it has all the basics as Movie Maker and in-buid screencast tools. The shortcoming is that it is available just for Windows. The only cross-platform software I found was Avidemux (https://fixounet.free.fr/avidemux/), but I found it poor-featured. If you know better cross-platform video editor please let me know.
Regarding video/audio converter I found useful Freemake video & audio converter (https://www.freemake.com), Format Factory (https://www.pcfreetime.com) and HandBrake (https://handbrake.fr), being the later capable of handling only video. If you know better tool for video/audio converter, preferable cross-platform, please let me know.
Best,
Carlos
