  • Thanks for information Peter!

I downloaded a trial of Boris and I am enjoying some features, even I couldn’t understand how to use much of the resources yet.

I would appreciate a couple of further information.

    a) About the usage, is Boris hard to learn (I will use it with)? In comparison with After Effects what would be the learning curve?

    b) Is Red5 able to give support to create infograph animation similar of that in the link bellow?

Many many thanks!!! I am going to try After Effects.

I would appreciate a last opinion by you. As I am newbie on all of it, in an try to prepare my tray of available tools!
I realize Corel provides VideoStudio Pro X5 Ultimate with a plenty of extras (including BorisGraffiti, NewBlue, and more bellow). And the price is very cheap.
In the same way of dealing with After Effects + Vegas, do you think it would be possible to use Corel VideoStudio + Vegas?
For instance, I like Newblue “watercolor” effect on footage. Just this effect bought directly from NewBlue as a Vegas plugin is more expensive than Corel VideoStudio bundle. So, when need I would edit/render something in Corel and than use in Vegas…

    Cheers,
    Cadu

    Hi Steve,

Many thanks for your motivational reply!!! After that I am really considering After Effects as a way, since I am being evolved by video editing each time more.

I would appreciate help for a further understanding. I realize that “Boris Graffiti” could provide some animation tools (including chart animation) and thinking on having it as Vegas plugin. Is it worth having as a handy tool for animation? Or should I go directly to After Effects without lose more time?

And considering After Effects, is it handy to use together Vegas Pro 11?

March 14, 2012 at 9:38 pm in reply to: Tips on Vegas Media Manager

    Hi,

About “Save Tags and Properties to Files” in Vegas Media Manager, I could apply it just to video and audio files. When applying to image (.jpg, .png) an error appears=> “Saving tags and properties failed for some files and the cause could not be determined”.

Does anyone know if Media Manager is unable to “save tags” to image files?

    Thanks in advance,
    Cadu

Thanks for explanation! I am new on this stuff and it is getting clear “step by step”. Do you recommend any book for dummies, or even other full featured to improve knowledge about video editing?

    Hi,

About my latter post, I could found out answers. Maybe it is useful to others:

    a) About screen capture using AVI/XVid in Camtasia, it is important to be aware with the “profile @ level” when configuring XVid. It is recommend to set to “unrestricted”. After that Camtasia will record great. In youtube there is a tutorial to other software (Camstudio), but the configurations are the same to Camtasia.

    b) About screen capture using x264vfw, there is other useful tutorial. With the same configurations Camtasia was able to capture screen as well.
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z4Fma2V3vE8

HELP=> Both XVid and x264vfw are in an .AVI container. Vegas Pro 11 was able to import/read XVid, but to x264vfw Vegas presents an error=>
“Warning: An error occurred while opening one or more files. An error occurred while opening a codec”.

Should I expect Vegas be able of importing/reading x264vfw (from Camtasia screen capture in .AVI)? What could be going wrong?

    Thanks in advance,
    Cadu
