  • Ok thanks Vince. I think it’s a settings problem somewhere because I can hear FCP 7 and After FX,
so I don’t believe the connection is the problem but I can’t figure it out. I’m using HDMI out of the matrox but only for Video monitoring, and optical wire directly out of the Desktop into the logictech speaker system.

    Thanks

Thanks Jeremy, I got it working now. It wouldn’t open from the alias I created for my dock. I trashed it and the preferences and made a new copy and added it to my dock and it opens and runs as it should.

I tried right clicking on it like you mentioned before I posted about the problem.
It opened the clip but only gave me what looked like some sort of player and no adjustments, really weird.

I was concerned that there might be a bigger issue so I just wanted it to work like the rest of the apps.
I got it working again, thank you.

I’ll try that Jeremy, I’m assuming they can be found in the same location as FCP pref ?

No Jerry I have not, I’ll give that a shot and see if that works. Is this a common problem?

I’ve been on FCP now for almost 3 years and this is the 1st time I’ve ever seen this message.

I was on Avid before that for about 13 years and lets just say there are few crazy messages on FCP, lol….

Thanks, I’ll try that 1st thing in the morning.

Thanks guys I appreciate the info.

I was fortunate that it went away.

I don’t know what I did to change it really.

I was looking around the project for stills originally because I was handed this project with some
    edits already done.

I’ve had this happen before with still that were over 4k but I had never seen that error
    message with strictly video.

All I did was reboot and then FC let me render the sequence, no problem since, weird!

Thanks Andrew, that’s exactly right. I don’t know how I missed it the 1st time.

    Thank you.

I finally F—ing found it! You were right Michael ! I found after double checking the stills and the graphics one by one. One of the ones I over looked was 5K, thanks man. I feel happy to have found the problem but like an ass for dragging this out so long. thanks for you help and patience with me.

    I owe you one !

Got it Michael, I found it shortly after my last posting. I have checked all of my pictures and graphics and non is larger than 3300×2559. I resized it just to be on the safe side and I still have the same problem, all of the rest of the tiff’s are smaller in size.

Well since i didn’t know what to look for can you tell me how I can determine whether a still or graphic is at or about 4,000 pixels?

Where would I find this information, I could just go back and affect each picture I guess in a worst case scenario. I did resize a few picture but cause the client didn’t want to see any of the borders in them. that makes sense then.

    Thanks Michael
