Question about monitoring audio via external speakers
1st of all hello everyone, I’m new to PP, moving over from FCP 7. Let me tell you a little bit about my setup so that hopefully you guys can help me figure my problem out.
1. I’m running CS5, soon Cs5.5 on my Mac Pro desk top. 2×2.66ghz dual core intel xeon
2. I have a dual monitor set up, 2Dell 22’s with a client monitor or air monitor 32inch sony bravia {HDMI}
3.Matrox MXO2 I/O box fully updated.
4. logictech 500w 5.1 speaker set that I have connected to the desktop via optical wire output.
5.Caldigit raid drive 3TB
6. I’ve been on the line with Matrox and their tech support and that was a dead end.That is pretty much all the main pieces. When I run FCP 7 I can hear my timeline or sequence via the ext 5.1 speakers, I can see the timelines output in the 32 inch client monitor and all is good. Same with After FX and ram previews, they work as they should.
On Premiere Pro I can see the sequence but I can’t hear the sound. It comes through the 32inch monitor’s built in speaker. I have been through just about every setting in the PP Preferences hardware tab and no change, it only plays through the client monitor. As soon as I log out of PP and go into FCP 7 I’m good, everything works as it should.
Any Ideas?
Are any of you running a similar setup?
How do you monitor your audio?
Are you guys using ext. speakers and if so, how have you connected them to your tower ?
{MAC PRO}Thanks
