Unfortunately, it looks like those updates only apply to PP1.0 and 1.5.

Has anyone heard of a patch/workaround for PPCS3?

I have the same problem using Premiere Pro CS3 on a macbook pro. The error occurs when using the “Export to Encore” command as well as withing Adobe media encoder.

In my tests so far I have been able to export clips up to 4 minutes without issue. But when exporting my 2 hour movie, I’m not able to get it all out.

    Any ideas?

I have trashed my preferences and reinstalled FCP. That is how I discovered the issue was with 5.1.4. My install disk is for 5.1 , and things work fine. Once I download and install the update, I have issues. Without the presence of a capture card, how do I convert DVCProHD? I am running the latest version of Quicktiime as well. Thanks for all the help, I’m still open to any/all suggestions.

Upon further inspection, the root of the problem is coming from the 5.1.4 upgrade. When I revert back to 5.1, there are no prpoblems. However, once I upgrade, the problem comes back. AApple is researching the issue, but have not come back with any solutions. Is anyone else having trouble with 5.1.4? Thanks

    Hi Kevin,

Don’t worry about the render files. Those are only generated when you build a timeline with effects that need to be rendered in order to play in real time. In fact, the only folder of the FCP folders that will fill up with a significant number of files will be Capture Scratch and, eventually, Autosave Vault. You can actually delete the Render Files folder to save disc space, but remember that any rendered effects will need to be re-rendered if you do.

As for the audio out of sync issue, I have the same problem in FCP 5.1.4. So far, the best I’ve been able to figure out is that the Sony HDV deck and camera are no longer supported by Apple. I am still working on this issue, since it brings my production department to a standstill. We are not currently able to capture HDV footage. It’s unacceptable. When I learn more, I will share it here.
