May 23, 2008 at 10:10 pm in reply to: XDCAM Transfer 2.7 Still double clips

I would run into this problem if I was importing into an already existing project (that was a different format). If I created a new project that was setup to be XDCAM HD from the get go I did not get the double clips. It is really frustrating when you need some footage off of a disc for a different formatted project. You got to love work arounds!!!!

  • I can not find this update. All I am finding on the website is PDZK-P1 1.1 or Flip4Mac 2.1.(which you have to buy) I had to download 2.0 from Sony’s FTP site and 2.1 is not there either. Can you give a more exact site link. Thanks

Hopefully Sony Fixes the FAM Driver install. That was an issue with 1.1 in Leopard. Still have some quirkiness in Leopard with Version 2.0. Like not being able to rename the disc (does not save it when disc is reloaded). But able to import clips so that is the important part.

Luckily we only did the upgrade to 2 of our 4 Desktops (to see what problems we would run into). I can still at least import the clips and edit. I just can’t mess with the disc until the software update.

Can’t wait!!! Upgraded to Leopard and now I can not rename the disc or see the disc on the desktop. The Transfer tool still sees it and can transfer the clips, so that is good….

I have not found the “Bad TV” Effect. I am on FCP 5.0. One of the other editors figured it out in Motion. Add Line Screen to your video and change the Blend mode on the filter to Exclusion, rotate it 90 degrees. Then add the same video to a new layer and move it underneath the treated video. Go back to Line screen and play with the Opacity. Works pretty good.
