I am looking for a way to do the TV Line Effect on video that we see a lot of. Never had a reason to figure this out until now. Does anyone have any ideas of how to create this with out buying a plugin. Thanks

There is a Bad TV filter in the current version of FCP that may do what you want.

    All the best,

I have not found the “Bad TV” Effect. I am on FCP 5.0. One of the other editors figured it out in Motion. Add Line Screen to your video and change the Blend mode on the filter to Exclusion, rotate it 90 degrees. Then add the same video to a new layer and move it underneath the treated video. Go back to Line screen and play with the Opacity. Works pretty good.
