Apparently I must be getting senile or something.

I’ll re-explore all options while a file is being rendered.

The problem I guess is myself!

    So, if I may re-ask:

With CS5.5 open, while a file is being rendered, I can’t minimalize, exit the program or use anything else without losing what is being rendered.

That’s what I need to solve.

How do i get around that?

Thanks all for your input and especially for the full set of answers provided to the 4 questions at hand.

I do apologize for the lengthy delay in response as I was out of state for most of the last week and away from my video editing resources.

    All the Best

  • To All:

The dimensions of the pictures from the D-90 are 4288 by 2848.

I shrunk the pictures to about 94% of original size with a program called Irfanview since I do not have full-blown Photoshop. Was just under 4,000 pixels

    Bingo!! Imported just fine.

Unfortunately, after I added a color matte and then exported it the quality deteriorated quite a bit compared to how it looked when imported.

So that discovery that leads me to the next question.

What’s the best method to export a “frame” after it’s been edited which should yield the best quality?

Actually, what I should have stated is that the A1s is 15.5 inches long not 15 according to Canon’s website.

So, to get it in there one would have to cram it in which would put pressure on the eyepiece/viewfinder.

My experience with them today was nothing but positive and upbeat. I talked to a “Peter” in their pro video dept and pointed out that the bag they were offering in their starter kit was a half an inch short to comfortably accomodate an A1s because according to the specs the interior length of the Pearstone bag was sproported to be 15″ and the official length of the A1s was 15″!

So, after pointing that issue out and waiting, he upgraded the bag to a much nicer one in the $200 range for only another 50 bucks.

Shipping was free. I have found over the years that B&H is courteous, knowledgable, reponsive and has solid customer service.

Earlier today I bought the Canon A1s “starter” kit, Libec tripod and upgraded the kit bag.

And yes, it was from B&H which keeps my wife happy too.

I really can’t wait until Monday when this will probably arrive!

    Whoops!

I meant to say I’d like a solid state option onboard too.

    “stateless” was a blooper!

    Hi Aaron,

Unfortunately, the XF-100/105 duo only offers 10x lens.

Other than that, they appear to be very impressive.

The A1S has a 20x which in my case is mandatory and neccessary.

Neither the A1 or A1S has Genlock,Timecode,SDI and the like which is fine with me as in my case they are not needed.

I’d like full HD too and stateless instead of HDV, however there’s no point in having those features if the lens is not strong enough to reach your subject!
