January 3, 2014 at 12:30 am in reply to: Pls assist me to convert lxf files for local broadcast/Thanks!Hi,
I’m back onto this quest. A belated Happy New Year.
I’m pretty sure that the original is HD, I just don’t know yet what container/wrapper it had before ending up in this format.
Will inquire.
I want to have a HD master and by necessity will convert it to SD for broadcast on local cable which accepts files with MPEG-2 DVD spec.
Each file is about 5 gigs so I can’t upload them online as examples or to be worked with/shared as part of the solution.
Unfortunately, knowing so little, how do I comply to submit the FFMPEG console output? Is there a GUI that you’d recommend?
Please remember I’m not a programmer or coder.
Thanks

A belated Happy New Years.
I’m wondering how you came up with that solution.
The problem is now solved as I explored UAC permissions.
Always nice to know another trick that may come in handy in the future.
Thanks and I hope all is well.

Are you referring to PP to do this?
What combination of efx settings would provide a general starting point for experimentation purposes?
Thanks

Time to see how far I get.
Kind Regards.

I guess it’s dependent on how sharp one eyes are (or the reverse) or what one can accept and live with.
Some of my wife’s shots were 2 full degrees off level.
That’s what happens when she is so tired.
Fortunately it’s a rare occurrence!

Thanks so much for your comments and detailed explanation.
As an aside, once upon a time you gave me a simple Avisynth script for converting/downsizing HD to SD. Was that ever improved upon?
Is that still your go to script for that process?
Nice to hear from you.

What do you think of the “nesting” approach as mentioned above by Mike and Dave? In your view is that a viable solution?
Do you understand their concept?
If so, would you be willing to run it through with me so I can learn?
