Yep it was the reel names. Thanks for your help Shane.

Oh I bet thats it! I am using DSLR clips that I converted with MPEG stream clip and I bet they don’t have reel names. Typically I use XDCAM Transfer to import my media and that includes a reel name.
I will check in a few hours and update. Thanks Shane.

So the shoot is now canceled, for other reasons outside of the camera, but I am still hoping to get out and see that the T2i will do with the 50mm 1.8. It’s really not as wide as I’d like but the speed is there and I have been wanting to shoot a night sky anyways.
Thanks for the advice! I will be sure to post my results.

Well of course, I didn’t even think about the picture going to a much larger imager. Thanks for the help.

Finally the update is here. So let me be the first to ask a question. Can I mix formats when exporting from FCP? I sent two 1440×1080 XDCAM HD 1080i60 VBR files and they copied over no problem. I then tried to export a 1920×1080 XDCAM EX 1080i60 vbr but got the following error message:
Please check that your XDCAM device is set up correctly, the REC INHIBIT indicator is off, and the disc is not full.
The device should be configured like this:
Video: MPEG HD 60i. Audio: 2 ch x 16 bit
Error writing MXF file (while checking successful write()).I have over 50% open disc space, audio configured to 4 channel, dual mono. Only thing I can figure is that I can’t export different formats. Am I correct?

So it isn’t a poorly rendered no smoking sign? I guess I lost the office pool. Thanks for the quick reply, we will all sleep a little better tonight.

JS,
That is what I thought but I figured I would see how much of this old stuff we could salvage as we hove to HD. Thanks for the help.-Brian
