I want to condense a few projects using the media manager. When I highlight my sequence then select media manager the window opens but when I deselect “include master clips outside selection” or “include affiliate clips outside selection” My modified file size bar does not shrink in size.

I have tried this on multiple projects now, changed in and out points and even copied media to new project but to no avail. Even changing the length of my handles doesn’t seem to move my Modified bar.

In the past and on other machines I have used the media manager to condense without problem, any idea of a setting that may be off?

This is occurring on my Intel iMac with FCP 6.0.6 4G Ram

Make sure ALL of your footage has reel names.

Oh I bet thats it! I am using DSLR clips that I converted with MPEG stream clip and I bet they don’t have reel names. Typically I use XDCAM Transfer to import my media and that includes a reel name.

I will check in a few hours and update. Thanks Shane.
