So, how do you use Bridge and Premiere together so I can see keywords in Premiere after setting them in Bridge?

Robin, since I have to use PP at my work I was wondering how to use Bridge and Premiere together as far has key-wording is concerned. I already know it is not even close to what FCP X can do, but just trying to learn how Bridge and Premiere work together. I don’t know if you were referring to me as not using FCP X, but believe me, I LOVE FCP X and if you look me up you will discover I am a staunch advocate for FCP X. That being said, I have to use PP at work and am trying to make it as less painful as possible.

How do you implement those smart collections into Premiere Pro CC?

The way I look at it is this. Third party developers can create and update there plugins faster than if the feature was in the software itself. It might not be a priority to fix a half baked in feature of the software, therefore it takes longer to fix.

  • Oliver, those problems could be a Resolve issue, not an FCP X issue. My 2 cents.

Try this shortcut to toggle all your clips in list view to show what you have logged. “command+a” to select all and then “option+left arrow / right arrow” to toggle on or off. Then when you do a search they will stay toggled and you can find your clips. Also, make sure you have in preferences to show detailed trimming feedback checked so when you scrub the clip so any keyword or marker will display.

Why aren’t you doing this in FCP X?

Oliver, I really do see your point and this discussion has been educational. The kind of fades and edits you want should be simpler to do in FCP X. Good luck. I have not tried 10.3 yet but hope audio lanes might make way for easier audio fades.

Not trying to beat a dead horse, but the audio only transition that you can create in motion would save you a lot of time. I know it is not as user-friendly as you would like but it works.

I see your point. Thanks for sharing. That being said, I still think FCP X is better than others.
