Search Bins aren’t even close to what X’s Smart collections can do.

Why are you apologizing? Are these people scoffing at it or is it just you? The transitions in X are pretty good and if you don’t like it you can tweak it in Motion.

  • If you export your project in PP using PP and play your timeline or a clip the encode will stop. Oh wait…you can’t edit at all. If you “send to queue” to media encoder the encode will stop if you play a clip in PP. This works the same way in FCP X except if you send to compressor your encode will not stop if you play a clip in FCP X or edit.

Back in the day when using photos in FCP7 the timeline was sluggish when using a lot of photos. I was told to make sure my photos were 72 dpi. Once changed to that dpi it was much faster. I think the same goes for other NLEs today.

So it is not that FCP X can’t do what they wanted but that Resolve could not. So can you send a Premiere Pro project to resolve with a Ken Burns effect Aindreas Gallagher?

Why not try the Ken Burns effect in FCP X. Ease in/out and right and left motion and also size. Works perfectly.

Actually if you hold down the tilde key it will disable the connections. Also, if you hold down the tilde key and option key and release it will disable it as well without holding the tilde key. You can also connect any clip to another clip by holding down the option and command key and clicking with your mouse where you want to connect to the storyline.
