I would suggest exporting a reference file and playing it in quicktime. I don’t know if it’s possible to play an actual timeline while being in another app…
I created a quick tutorial on how to key your footage using Motion. One thing I forgot to say in the video is that you will want to delete the white layer before saving or exporting your footage. I only put the layer there because it is easier to see the results of your key against a white background than it is a black one. Let me know if you have any questions…
I agree…trying to key in Final Cut is incredibly frustrating. Keylight in AE will usually produce a very nice key even on lousy DV footage. If you don’t have After Effects, put your footage into Motion. Not the best…but TONS better than Final Cut.
I don’t think that’s the problem because I have the spill suppression set just how I want it. Take a look at the photos in my earlier post. Before I render, everything is looks the way I want it to.
I’m already working with ProRes422. I’m really confused here. If I bring it into AE, I can key no problem…but due to the work flow and other people involved in the project, I really need to pull the key in Final Cut.
