If I kick the video out to my external monitor in underscan mode, the top and bottom of my entire canvas is safe, but is it cutting off a small portion of the left and right sides…

do you just burn a quicktime file onto a DVD as data?

That’s a really good point. It would be worth the few extra hours of my work to avoid looking stupid.

I have Nattress’s (sp?) Standards Converter, so I’ll just dump everything twice.

Bigger and Better will always be coming out “next year.” no point in waiting. Just get it now. They just upgraded the CPUs to the Intel Core 2 Duo anyway, so now is as good a time as any.

Thanks boys. That is all good info. The Firewire800 would definately be something I need. I’m either going to go with the MBP or the 24″ imac. I’m going to head to the good old apple store and play around with them before making my descision.

wait…I thought the imacs WILL drive a second monitor? I was under the impression that they could.
that would be a huge factor in my descision. As for HD, I really don’t need to be able to edit HD. I am pretty much entirely DV for now (and probably for the life of the computer)

I’m not an AE user, and I don’t think Motion would do what I need to do. I have to modify each frame (in detail) of a 30 second clip. That’s 900 frames!!!! Yikes!!! I think Photoshop is the only tool for the job…

  • I guess this is pretty much the same program, but for Macs
