Dvcpro only supports 2 channels of audio. If you want to record 4 channels of audio you need to set your camera to at least dvcpro 50.

No suggestion here on how to fix your problem but i have seen this before and it was due to the florescent bulbs in the ceiling. If you have your shutter on the camera set high you will see the frequency cycle in the bulb. Florescent light that are bought at a hardware store are notorious to have color change in the spike during the frequency cycle.

Quicktime is just a wrapper of the footage. The question is if you have the right codec installed on your avid. What was the compression that Final Cut used and is that codec on your avid machine. If not you will need it installed. If you not sure hit Ctrl+I for a pc and it will you give you info of the clip. Hope this helps any questions please leave more info about the clip.

I have found issues also with rendering out quicktime files in after effects. My avid does not like bringing in quicktime that have been rendered in after effects so i render out PNG of TARGA sequences for all my projects.

I not sure about the dual booting but CS3 is only a 32 bit program. Some people have gotten it to install on a 64bit Vista system but you get no advantage of having more ram. Adobe CS4 software was built for a 32bit or 64bit system.
