I assume you have CS2, You just apply the Notch Filter Effect in either Edit or Multitrack modes, It can filter up to six frequency bands, adjustable in the parameters of the filter

There are 5 cards that will do GPU acceleration, I’m sure you have seen the list, if these cards are not detected, no cuda, as far as other cards working as video cards most will work as legacy or full support depending on the age of the card, you can find a list of these on adobe.com, as far as total capabilities, it takes time to do such comparisons -

If you are changing the output in the menu from DV to HDV you need to have the cam disconnected when you change the menu setting, if its in the auto mode, put it into HDV mode with cam disconnected, its recommended to have the cam in a hard mode vice auto, and if the firewire is connected the setting will not change, another point when you get video on the preview screen it will go black when you start to capture HDV.
also its not a good idea to have the power on hotswapping the firewire cable, many a computer port and/or cam port has been blown doing this. -
Why not use a GTX285 vice a Quadro card if you want to use it for gaming also? its in the same price ballpark as the 5870

One thing you might do is take a third party AFX transition you want to use try it in Ppro, some AFX stuff will work in Ppro

Check in the “Device Manager” the camera will show up in the “Sound, Video and Game Controller” section as a “AV/C tape Device”, best way to check is have the cam off connect to the computer and turn in on in the Playback mode and you should see it popup in the device manager, make sure that you see [HDV] on the cams lcd screen and also a HDV/DV when the ilink is connected.
In Ppro in the capture window under settings you have “DV/HDV Device Control” selected and device a “Canon Standard”, you are not trying to capture HDV to the internal drive? you should be capturing to a external USB2 or eSATA drive, or to a second internal drive if your laptop can hold one, if everything is set right you should see video in the capture’s window when playing the tape in the cam, this will disappear when you start recording
BTW you didn’t include what version of Ppro you are using. -
On the windows side I use effects and stuffs from Prodad and Newbluefx which usually takes care of what I need.

What operating system, Vista and Win7 can have problems if the wrong firewire driver is loaded.
