In the xpresso on the wheels change the Move parameter being passed from Position (3) or Global Position (1) to Global Position.Z – Position or Global Position don’t make much sense with that setup as you get wheel rotation moving straight sideways or up/down as well. Would work ok as long as the vehicle remains level. You may want to use a path (spline) type drive system if you are going to be turning corners – or place the Move inside a Rotation null so you can always move in Z and the Rotate handles direction

can you post the file? (or a cut down example)

October 24, 2017 at 12:54 am in reply to: Camera focal length to match human eye

    here’s another from a search https://petapixel.com/2012/11/17/the-camera-versus-the-human-eye/
he makes the point a couple times the eye is not really like a camera in many ways (though similar) and comes up with another number (43mm). Maybe it would be best to use a focal length that gets people standing where you want them to regardless of camera/eye comparison (that may take some trial and error).

the three sliders X, Y, and Z should all be at 0, if that doesn’t do it the axis must have been moved so use Mesh/Axis Center/Axis Center to center the axis to the selected points (the modelling axis sliders should be still at 0’s as well)

if you want to texture the extrude sides differently use the default selections built in. R1, R2 give access to the ’rounding’ of the extrude (the fillet) and C1, C2 give access to the caps. Doing it that way you would want to put the pear on the cap(s) (and perhaps the fillet/rounding if necessary) and use a texture with no Selection for the sides (that’s just the way it works)

you can usually use Tags/Fit to Object, Fit To Image to adapt an image to geometry but that works without the alpha, the extra image outside the alpha boundaries will throw that off. It will probably be necessary to use the controls in the Texture Tag to get it to match like you want. Make sure Tile is unchecked then use Length U/V and Offset U/V to move the image where you need it to be. Judging by your image you will likely have to increase Length U and adjust Offset U to get it placed, the V looks pretty close already and should only require minor tweaking.

seems to be the way for 19, put in a note to maxon support. Don’t see a way around it (in a quick set of tests) and the help doesn’t mention a change (that I can see)

are those parametric spheres? The rules for outlines and intersections seems to be different for editable objects rather than parametric ones.

I think the main problem is your tiles are a child of the camera (which is moving). When I pull those out and adjust a number of the settings it seems to be ok.
