  • R19 Connecting Two Splines Issue – Bug

Posted by Amdrew Cooper on October 19, 2017 at 10:38 am

Hi. When I try to connect 2 splines in R19 the intermediate points get messed up. For example, if you have 2 semi-circles (with three anchor points on each) – if I connect them (using the Connect Objects + Delete command), the resulting spline has dozens of anchor points.

I have also just tried connecting two straight lines. R19 is adding intermediate points when connecting these too !

In all earlier versions the number of points remain unaffected. Has anyone else had this issue and how do I fix it without having to jump back to r18 to perform this simple task?

That is strange, but the easy workaround is to use the Spline Union command instead of connect and delete. It’s found in the same palette as the other spline creation tools.

seems to be the way for 19, put in a note to maxon support. Don’t see a way around it (in a quick set of tests) and the help doesn’t mention a change (that I can see)

    Hi thanks for the response.

I’ve tried the spline union but that seems to only work with closed splines, unfortunately my issue is with open splines.

FYI I have contacted Maxon support and they have logged it for investigation.
