Your cube only has one division by the look of it. If it’s a default cube give it more than 1 segment, if you made the cube editable already then Subdivide it.

    Yes, that’s possible too,
    – the object with points to move still goes into the Point node’s Object port
    – enable the Point Position input on the Point node by right-clicking on the left of the node (the blue rectangle)
    – use the Null’s Global Position to input into the Point Position port you just enabled

it’s harder to see what’s going on (not that it should happen but rotation and keeping ‘up’ straight is tough in any program) if you construct it as you did – putting the rectangle in the orientation it ‘should be’ in before sweeping.

This has two rings – one built like yours but with the rectangle in the ‘normal orientation. Toggle banking on and off in that one and you will see what’s going on. I don’t know how to stop that but the other one is another way to do it – with Rail Scale.

haven’t done any myself so until someone who has chimes in you might want to look at this https://www.maxoncomputer.com/tutorial_detail.asp?tutorialID=9 it’s an *old* tutorial but the modeling stuff is valid excepting sweepNurbs didn’t exist yet and copying the texture will be different. Still some good points about construction there.

you can also either turn off Diffuse for the light and it will only have specular highlights left or check off No Illumination – it won’t cast any light but you will still see the visible glow.

Post effects (Glows etc) usually can’t be seen through transparency because it is rendered first and glow is added later. Someone has a depth of field plugin that does dof through transparency but I don’t know of any that does the same with Glow (which doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist…)..
Shape will likely be a problem but the glow of a Visible light can be seen through transparency.

I got around to reading Per-Anders Edwards’ COFFEE Node Primer to get my syntax right. So just for completeness another example doing the same thing as the second example (TriggerClick). If you’re going to check out Coffee it helps to have some scripting under your belt but it’s not hard really if you don’t try do way too complex things right off the start.
