  • move the Selection tag from the Correction Deformer to the Tube and it should work

probably but I have no idea how much. It would have to decide if they are visible or not. In addition the help says C4D is optimized for fewer objects with (up to) millions of polys rather than millions of objects with few polys. You probably don’t have enough objects inside for that to matter and the only way you can really tell is to do a couple comparison renders one with the objects, one without.

  • in the Viewport/Display menu you are probably set to Box (bottom section of that menu) change it back to Wireframe.

  • Vectorizer and Displacer definitely don’t seem to play nice together. Displacer seems to change it’s width narrower with every change of it’s Mapping/Length U (at least here). If I use the texture you have in there rather than the Displacer it’s just a matter of changing Length U there to 64.5 to get it to line up. That should be what works with Displacer but it doesn’t seem to for me.
As to a better way, I would try using a flat surface then adding thickness later but there are a lot of issues
    – a leaf is usually (except for the veins) the same thickness throughout and adding displacement on a parametric object (the extrude in this case) means the normals are all facing outward so wherever your leaf bulges outwards due to displacement on one side it will do the same on the other side and the leaf gets thicker there.
    – using a color image as the bump map is often done but is not actually accurate – displacement goes up for white and down (or zero depending on settings) for black and in your image the veins are darker than the leaf surface so they are actually depressing in the surface rather than raising above it (true for the stem as well). You may have to make a bump map from the color image but that depends on whether you need that level of reality in your 3D print. If you have 1000 to do also a problem. depends on the leaf images and whether you can process them quickly somehow.
    – another problem with displacement on an object with thickness already is that it displaces the sides as well, you can control that with poly selections with a displacement texture but not with the Displacer that I know of.

  • can you post the scene file? I’d have to guess a projection difference between the Vectorizer and the Displacer but since that’s not the way I would have approached it (likely) I’d have to see the file to work it out.

  • can’t help really except to say Adam said it. Dynamics is not exactly reality but it’s a pretty good simulation and that means objects go where ‘physics’ says they should. You can blend keyframes and dynamics but you can’t keyframe the final positions and then blend without the objects ‘gliding’ to the keyframes (it doesn’t look like natural dynamics). Same goes for using the Transition setting in the dynamics tag.
Starting in your final position then play it backwards by attracting the objects can maybe work but not if they bounce a bunch (hard to get that to go backwards).
Like the trick shot in pool/billiards you can plan the shot by carefully using other objects to force the bounce in the correct direction (and in 3D these ‘helper objects’ don’t have to be visible).
Or you can cheat and put shots together that don’t actually show the full shot of the ball’s whole path but just enough to imply they are moving the right direction then some end shots to show them ending up where you want.

If your text is MoText (not the only way to do it) you could have a Wind object blowing with a Rigid Body Tag on the text. If the rigid body/collision is set to At Velocity Peak rather than imediately the text will stay still. Then pass a Plain effector with a small move and a Linear falloff through the text which will start the dynamics and the Wind will now blow the text

  • it might if you are really looking to knock out the C4D rendering to reveal another AE layer underneath

  • Anna fixed it (if you click on the user name it takes you posts and uploaded files etc) and there the comments says she figured it out

  • even with the X, Y and Z locks on (which it is at first) you should be able to override by directly grabbing the axis handle – which you do – …..

The behaviour you are getting looks most like having the ‘1’ key pressed all the time (the Move Camera Hotkey by default).
