yes. since the camera used was a 5D, I began researching the common issues involving audio sync with that camera and externally recorded audio. I downloaded an easy set up pluggin by pluraleyes that was supposed to fix the issue. But I haven’t been able to resolve it using that easy set up. So I’m willing to try anything at this point. I thought it might be a drop frame to non drop frame issue. but that doesn’t seem to resolve it either. I’m open to anything at this point… otherwise I’m forced to use camera audio which is quite noisy and ambient. -B

Thanks John. I’m looking to purchase another Mac but know it will come loaded with Lion. I always try to stay current… but it was the FCPX issues that I thought might cause some incompatibility. Maybe Lion and FCPX came out independently and not necessarily FCPX built for Lion?

dang. didn’t work for me. Ae gives me the option of importing multiple files in File/import, but it treats it like more than one element. it doesn’t unpack the motn file. also tried selecting “all files” in the dropdown menu on the import window, but that still gave me a flattened file.

Dave, looks like apple pulled the link. is there any access to the information contained in it outside of the apple website? looking to bring a layered Motion project into after effects CS5. not sure if a layered file can be interpreted. it recognizes a flattened file just fine.. would be an amazing day if multiple layers are possible… I guess if I needed to export each element of a motion project and then import into AE, but I have camera and lights in 3D in motion and not sure how that would transfer.. a solution to the former would be great.

thanks. wow not a bad comparison though. Regarding thunderbolt, I was more concerned that I would go and buy a Mac Pro then in a year have technology leap forward on me. I have an iMac currently and it’s fairly good with 8MB of ram and dedicated video memory.. but it’s starting to struggle.. thanks for the advice. the comparisons do look fairly close between the iMac quad i7 and the mac pro.. got to think on this one. 🙂

i actually bought an Intel i5 macbook pro last year for field stuff and like it. but you always have that desire to have a real extreme powerhouse machine as your main editor.. but yeah, I agree the macbooks and iMacs are pretty powerful. other than some limitations with connectivity.
