    Hi all!
I am looking for a way to import motion 2 files into after effects 7 in Mac (Intel based). I can read in the Apple site that you can simply drag and drop the motion project in to after effects but when i do so, nothing happens. If i try to import the motion project, it doesn’t recognise it as an acceptable file. If i choose to see all files and import it, i get an error message saying the photoshop file (???) is corrupted. I tried with various motion projects but nothing seems to work. Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Nikos

Change the Motion file extension to mov (you might want to make a copy first).

I think you mean if its already labeled with a mov extension. Then AE just thinks it’s a quicktime file.

This way must let you link back through the “edit in command”. If you just change the extension then you would not be able to use that command but you could edit the original Motion project save it and copy it again, change the extension and overwrite the file AE is using. All these workarounds learned from the days gone by.

Dave, looks like apple pulled the link. is there any access to the information contained in it outside of the apple website? looking to bring a layered Motion project into after effects CS5. not sure if a layered file can be interpreted. it recognizes a flattened file just fine.. would be an amazing day if multiple layers are possible… I guess if I needed to export each element of a motion project and then import into AE, but I have camera and lights in 3D in motion and not sure how that would transfer.. a solution to the former would be great.
