This isn’t an After Effects solution, but if you’re on Mac, there is a program called Morph Age Pro that does the job nicely, and it will keyframe morphs in video sequences.

  • The solution has to be a no-play solution. The problem the client has is that their DVD app goes full screen upon auto play, making them unable to find the icons on their desktop. I told them that this is an application setting, not a DVD one, but he wanted me to override and not auto play the disc. I’m going to tell him it can’t be done.

  • I looked high and low and read many a blog post on many forums about pixel aspect ratios and other rationalizations for the existence of these pesky black pillarbox bars, but most have not a clue about how to get around this cleanly or easily, so here’s the answer:

In the output preview box of Adobe Media Encoder, in the top left corner, there is a source scale setting. Set this to “scale to fill” and you’re done.

There you have it. No lectures or excuses, just a 3 second how-to. Enjoy!

  • Media Encoder: Output preview
    Source scaling: stretch to fill
    DONE!

  • I started to read your post to try and find out how to get a 5.1 mix out of Audition and into Encore, but when I got that video I had to stop and almost pissed myself laughing…

oh yeah, what was I here for again?

It’s been working for quite some time now and is easier to install than it ever has been with a unified installer. Go to the magic lantern site and download it whenever you’re ready!!!

Thanks Eric… not the news I wanted to hear, but at least I’m a bit more informed…

I remember scenarist from way back and how powerful it was even then. Unfortunately it doesn’t have a Mac version (I shouldn’t be that surprised since Apple backed HD-DVD but you’d think outside vendors would fill the void).

I could go with a VM solution if I had to I just prefer something a bit more OS integrated… there’s also the performance hit.

I’ll have to look into the DVD Logic suite too.

(taps foot patiently waiting for Larry to chime in…)

I was sort of getting the sense that Encore wasn’t as powerful as I’d originally allowed myself to believe. It’s a bit delicate to use and positioning elements on the flowchart can be an annoying mess at best. It’s too bad, considering how powerful their media encoder is. I was looking forward to doing more with it, but if I can’t make the robust interfaces I want to, I will have to go for another application.

Any suggestions as to a good Blu-Ray authoring platform for Mac without having to run a Windows app in a VM? What’s this stuff I hear people saying about Blue Streak? As for programming, I’m as seasoned as they come – I just need to get up to speed on the tools and development environment.

  • Thanks Vince..

I’ve already got the AE script (Kramer rocks BTW)
I appreciate your help, and your responding so quickly.

5 dings on the cowbell for this one!!

  • Can you at least have it render low res (fast) proxies like AE can, maybe by adjusting the settings in the AE project itself?
