You’ll have to export it into another fomat. Export it into whatever format you’re working in. If you’re in DV do that. If you’re uncompressed do that. You can export it from QT Pro.

Never tried removing transitions, but I guess if you do the same and drag it to “overwrite” you’d probably lose the transitions.

If you’re handing them full res files they should look ragged around the edges on motion. It’s called interlacing and computers don’t do it. Apple, being a more advanced machine, probably is doing some sort of deinterlacing or interpolation, whilst the windows macine is simply following orders.
I assume that they’re doing the web compression. So why wouldn’t you hand them the best quality files? Simply export qt movie and choose “current settings,” “audio and video,” and check to not recompress but do make the movie self contained.
Translated it means copy this video. If they have quicktime they should be able to use the clips on their machine and compress them however they want.

Try just capturing as a non-controllable device, so it ignores the timecode. You can then set the timecode back to the original if needed.

These should help. You do probably need to uninstall QT and reinstall. Lots of people having this issue. I bookmarked these. I think I found them on this forum…

That should work. I just used the 90min setting in Compressor 2 yesterday. Didn’t change anything and it looked pretty good. Heck 1 pass VBR is pretty decent, right inside DVD SP. I usually just export qt refs and drop them in DVD SP and use the 1 pass and the aiffs it creates for client approvals. When I get the final approval, I use compressor and dolby digital for the audio, and replace the qt refs with mpeg 2s from compressor.

There should be a 120 min setting. You’re cutting it too close for the 90min setting.

Just use the high quality mpeg-2 preset. Use the correlating dolby digital audio preseet.

It zooms in directly on whatever you have selected. It zooms on the playhead if you have nothing selected. Get used to hitting cmd+d for deselect before you zoom if you want it to go to the playhead. And you’ll need to set that key up yourself. For some annoying as heck reason apple removed the cmd+d command with version 4.x and replaced it with nothing. If you’re new to FCP you might know it as shift+cmd+z. Yeah apple, that makes so much more logical sense.

If you’re worried about your camera, you should be worried about using it as a deck! Get a DVCam deck and use that.
