Or you could pan everything to center in your timeline and export QT movie.

Once again, amazingly that example works perfectly in IE for the Mac version 5.5. Almost 5 years old now.

25GB left on internal drive? If you have one external or separate drive, ALL the files need to be there, sans the project file, which should be on your system/app drive.
25 GB is a lot. You should still have about 2hours of storage left. I doubt your drive is very fragmented.

Not sure I’m following you. I hardly see any sites out there using 1/2 the CSS Meyer uses. But yeah, the book is about 3 years old. There’s a new one now called even more css or something like that. The beauty of the css he writes is he adds a very very minimal amount of code to create some really neat tricks. And usually, the pages look great in non-css browsers too. Although there aren’t many of those around. He starts with a non-css page that looks alright in regular html, and then adds ids and divs, etc. to make the page completely different.
There’s a few examples where he creates logos that look like they’re a gif or jpeg from photoshop, but they’re actually complete css, maybe with a background image.
Me, I’m still combining css with old fashioned table layout. Hard to break old habits you feel comfortable with.

I have the book this tutorial is in, and I seem to remember him writing that it had problems in IE for windows.
Oddly enough, it’s perfectly fine in IE for Mac, version 5.5. IE for mac hasn’t been updated in 4 years! It’s still better than it’s windows counterpart? I remember when it came out, it was developed completely independent of the Windows version.
Anyway, the page looks identical in IE or Safari on the mac side of things. I’m sure it’s fine in firefox too.
Meyer’s books are fantastic.

I checked the code and you’re definitely missing the point of frames. For one, you’ve got the source of the first, the top, frame set to a flash movie. You don’t have any parameters set for the flash movie, so by default it is scaling to fit. So if the window isn’t wide enough for it to fit, it scales down. Notice your frame isn’t scaling vertically.
You should be setting the frame to a web page, not a graphic. Create a web page. Place a table in it. Then place the flash file in the table and specify the parameters of the flash file. Size, height, no scaling, etc. Make the table the same height, width, etc. Make that web page the source of the top frame in your frameset.
Do the same for the left frame. Create a page with the graphic. Then make that page the source of the left frame in your frameset. Do the same for the right frame. You might want to make sure that the web page for the right frame has a table width for the content that is fixed, so that it doesn’t expand.

Is there some reason that Media 100 won’t run on 10.3.9? I guess you could create a dual boot OSX machine. But you certainly can’t run the two operating systems simultaneously like OSX and Classic.

I first thoght it was a new live CD featuring Col. Bruce Hampton and Widespread Panic.

Well, I guess you didn’t read the article…
1st, it can only access 2.5GB of ram if you have 4gb of ram installed. In other words, for example if you have 3 gigs of ram installed, the max might be 1.75gb of user allocateable ram.
2nd, to quote the article… “Although this memory isn’t directly allocated by the program itself, the allocation still falls into Final Cut Pro HD’s address space and contributes to the 4 GB limit. Final Cut Pro HD reserves 1.5 GB of RAM for these frameworks, libraries, and drivers and so only allows a maximum of 2.5 GB to be allocated by the user.”
Meaning FCP is grabbing 1.5 GB for resources, and allowing the user to define the rest of the ram it’s using, in this case 2.5 GB, and maxing out the full 4GB of the machine. But that’s all reliant on a 4GB machine. It doesn’t say what kind of resources it grabs on a 2 GB machine.
So it sounds to me that 4GB is the maximum for FCP. BUT, of course that’s if FCP is the only thing open. FCP will only grab a max of 1.5 GB in resources, and allow the user to grab a max of 2.5GB in more RAM. So if you have 4GB of RAM, and you’d like to open something else, your machine is going to perform immensely better if you have more RAM, so that when you switch between FCP and AE for example, the system isn’t using your hard drive to swap out RAM. If FCP is taking 4, you might want 6 installed for AE to run seamlessly and simeultaneously.
But to put it all in perspective, I have a dual G4 with 1.75 gigs of RAM. I run whatever I want and have never noticed a slowdown or a problem. I’m running 10.3.9 and FCP 5. The machine feels no different than a G5 until you hit the render key.

Aren’t those fanless drive quiet and convenient?
