[Oliver Peters] “FCPX doesn’t work that way. FCP7 and Premiere Pro, too, have mini-timelines for each viewer. In FCPX the viewer simply displays what’s under the playhead at any given moment – either a library clip or the timeline clip.

If you have your event viewer open and your event is in list view, then the “mini timeline” is just at the top of the event after you press shift+f. Sure would be nice if they could just put a scrubber and in/out visual under the event viewer. Ditto for the viewer.

Odd. The backups are tiny files. Like an XML. No media or caches. It’s only every 15 minutes so how are backups slowing you down?

It’s a track that you can also move as a unit up, down, sideways.

  • If you want to deinterlace just choose deinterlace in the inspector. Works pretty well.

15-20 minutes. But I’d already thought about it when I wrote the post. I’ve also done the same sort of thing in AE years ago so I knew how it would react. This sort of thing is much cleaner with parenting. But there’s likely a better way to do it with linking behaviors and parameters, similar to parenting, but this is just super quick.

That’s a start. You’ll need to oscillate the Y up and down (and key frame, or ramp, the oscillate to zero) as well for a little bounce. That’d be one “rung”. Duplicate that group and place it in the same group, but slightly later in the timeline, and slightly below the other, and so on. Might have to fade each group in a little too. Should be a good start.

Can’t speak for Premiere, but Resolve’s was actually a little better tha mMorphCut, but obviously not as convenient!

That thing is great. I’ve even used it on 4K lock offs, that I then edited into HD sequence adding camera moves and zooms. I’ve even used it for I dream of genie type effects where someone snapped their fingers and the product pops on. But with morph cut the product morphs on. Very cool usage.

That was unfortunate. But you have to admit mObject is about a lot more than 3D text. And it’s 3D text blows away Apples. But simplicity rules. FWIW they’re touting an amazing update to mObject this year.
