  • Ahh… now it works great unless I select Continuous Raster… what the heck…

  • Update: I am not sure why, but for some reason deleting the spine and re-importing it has fixed the problem. I’m using the very first expression I listed now and everything seems to be ok. How strange. At least it’s working.

    Oh. 🙁 Any suggestions?

Seems like an odd oversight that they’re always that same size. It’s often fine, but sometimes something smaller or larger would be nice.

  • Oh, sweet… yeah, that did it. Thanks so much! Surprised I didn’t think of that.

By the way, are there any guidelines on which posts belong in the regular After Effects forum and which go in the Basics forum? I’m never sure.

Fantastic. Thank you! Works for non-shape layers too… lots of karma for you.

Yeah, I tried that one, too… it was ok, but again, not really what I’m looking for. It was all too 3D in nature. I’m looking for something more 2D in application.

Well, I figured it out. It IS there. It’s just organized funny. I have to click the clock icons next to the effects themselves in order to bring up animation. Which brings up the total number of ways to bring the animation interface up to three:

    1) Just go to the timeline animation bar.
    2) Press the “Animate” button (which is there for some effects but not others)
    3) Click the Clock icon(s).

    What a weird UI choice.

Anyway, that’s how it works, in case anyone else has a similar problem.

  • Just as bad as it looks after the render.

Unless I upload a WMV, in which case it has a high risk of developing the weird glitches I mentioned.

Right now I’m trying rendering it as a WMV and then converting it to another format in some other program. We’ll see if that works. Might not get it back from a co-worker until after the weekend.

  • Couple other details:

    — I don’t believe it has to do with playing things in different players. I know some people have pointed out that VLC uses different codecs and therefore might look more like the original, etc. But regardless of which players I try, the WMVs look like the original and anything else simply does not.

    — I am not using a Mac. I know some people have reported similar issues when using a Mac.

    I have Platinum 12, so I can’d do nesting. 🙁

I made the animation quickly and easily using the Adobe Edge Beta, which is free. Now I just need to figure out a way to display an HTML5 animation in Vegas… grumble… any ideas?
