Bad news is that Platinum 12 (my version) doesn’t support nesting.

Good news is that simply rendering it and then placing the rendered track into the new video looks good enough. So I’ll just do that. In the case of what I’m doing at least I can’t tell the difference, so that’s good.

    Thanks again everyone.

Thanks John! That sounds like an ideal solution. I will try that.

Unfortunately I’m not able to post any of the stuff I’m working on right now. What can I clarify? I’ll attempt to be clearer…

I’m using the Track Motion keyframes to animate PNG files as items on the video. The problem is that this gives me a single timeline for the whole track. So if I want to move a clip elsewhere in the video, I have to use the keyframe timeline for the track, instead of the typical way of moving clips around. The clip on the main Timeline editor just represents whether or not the object is visible.

Basically I want the exact same controls, except to have the keyframes represent a relative place in the clip instead of the track… this is the same way it works with the Pan/Crop controls. If I pan something two seconds into the clip, and then move the clip elsehwhere, it still looks the same when its played back.

Not so with the Track Motion controls. If I move the clip around, the keyframes do not move with it. If I had something move two seconds into the video, it always moves two seconds into the VIDEO, regardless of the position of the clip.

    Does that make more sense?
