There are a lot of online file sharing sites. I’m sorry, I can’t remember the last one I used. Or, have him send a drive or the media cards to you.

You don’t need to use streamclip. Canon has a Log and Transfer plugin for Final Cut. Now just copy the entire folder onto your hard drive, then set up your Final Cut project and select File, Log and Transfer. then select your folder and you’ll see your clips that you can import.

I’d do some research on this lens. Here is an old blog I found.

I know this is after the shoot, but non of the above will work using just the camera audio, as I’m sure you found out, using the 7D’s. The audio has no control or limiter on camera. You have no monitor.
You should have used an external recorder, such as a Zoom H4n or Zoom R-16 multitrack recorder. Use the feeds mentioned.
If you know how to use ProTools, you can also run a stereo board feed into your laptop for post mixing.
In the future, it’s best to have an audio engineer lined up that you can trust to capture good audio. Live bands are challenging, but audio is everything.

I would not allow him to keep ANY footage period. Have him sign a contract or your sol when he posts it on his website.
I just did a big concert shoot. Get some EX-1’s. 5D’s work well with some shots but the EX-1 blew them out of the water for concert shooting.

Why not hire a 2nd shooter with gear already?
I only do this if I have the date open, or if I’m hired by other companies that I frequently work with on projects. I hire them and they hire me, so we know each other’s work.
In the future, always ask who is going to edit this and what style they are looking for.
I offer two types of shooting for other people, cinematic and documentary style. I charge hourly rates, because day rates for weddings typically can go from 6 – 12 hours. Indian and Bhuddist Weddings will run all day and into the next morning.
Cinematic requires more equipment, steadicam, sliders, cranes, etc.
Documentary, tripod. So always ask what type of production do they expect and charge a rate based on not only the hours you are working, but how much gear you need to bring. Just because you are working an hour doesn’t mean you do the same amount of work per hour…if that makes sense. I work my butt off shooting cinematic productions. Documentary is a breeze, but boring sometimes.

Why do you need a camera or card reader? Is this on an SxS card?
If it’s on the hard drive, just copy the entire BPAV folder over to your other drive.

If you keep it below 1000, you shouldn’t see any issues. What other settings are you using? What lens? Night shooting or daytime?
I shoot with the 7D all the time, sometimes up to 2000 ISO. I only see noise above 1000. I use 1.4 – 2.8 lens for night time shooting, usually with some lighting, depending on the shoot.

Hoodman also have a great warranty on their cards. It used to be a lifetime warranty. You might want to check on that. That is part of the reason they are more expensive.
I’ve used the adaptor with older transcend SD cards. I haven’t had issues since upgrading my firmware on the EX-1.
The Nano Flash is a good choice so you can record to both cards at once, thus having redundancy, which is important in case of a card failure or error ( which I have had in the past ).
