Grain/Noise reduction on 7D
Posted by Marshall Mullen on March 29, 2011 at 11:25 pmHello,
I recently got the Canon EOS 7D. I have been shooting movie on it, but have been getting a lot of grain and noise in my vids. I have the iso set at 160, or 100, but am still getting the noise.
Has anyone had this problem, or know of any solutions?
Thanks,

I shoot with the 7D all the time, sometimes up to 2000 ISO. I only see noise above 1000. I use 1.4 – 2.8 lens for night time shooting, usually with some lighting, depending on the shoot.

April 4, 2011 at 6:38 pmHi..
I have no grain/noise issues at or below 1000 ISO, even a tad higher. Just curious, what conditions were you shooting in, what were the rest of your setting, and what lens were you shooting with? OH, did you notice this before or after transcoding, and what are you using to transcode your footage.
Best Regards!

April 4, 2011 at 10:19 pmI am shooting during the day with a good mount of light. The lens is a canon efs 18-200mm.

April 6, 2011 at 3:34 pmClean your sensor & lens. Also try another lens using the same settings. Just in case it’s a lens issue. There shouldn’t be any noise at that level.
