Since I’ve been shooting with a DSLR, I’ve come to love being able to dial in the white balance and color temperature. I would like to see this feature added somehow on the EX cams… firmware update?

Sony fixed this issue with the EX1r. and yeah, you should never leave a camera unattended…ouch.

5D will give you more color detail and less video noise when cranking up your ISO. 7D has more control over video settings and allow you to shoot 720p at 60fps.
The 60D has the same guts as the 7D, with the plus of a flip out screen.
Personally, I would only purchase a DSLR for a B-camera. If you have the budget, I would recommend the Panasonic AF-100 or Sony NEX FS-100U.
These are Video Cameras with the advantage of using your DSLR lenses. Much better camera images with not issues of Rolling Shutters, banding,& jello effects you get with the DSLR.Brent Dunn

Many wedding videographer’s have been using the DSLR’s. Canon 5D Mark II, Canon 7d, and Canon 60D. The reason? It gives you that shallow depth of field when using the many choices of lenses.
If I were to buy another camera today I’d go with either the Sony NEX FS 100U

Plus it gives you all the controls you need in a video camera, audio, etc.

There’s more questions than answers here. I base it on my time.
If they have a budget, then you work with that. Otherwise, you can charge them an hourly rate for production and editing.

You want to do a time lapse photo shoot. You will need to purchase an intervolator. B & H has this for the canon cameras. Nikon cameras have it built in.
If you search for this you’ll find a lot of tutorials on how to do this. You can use quicktime pro to put the photos together for that cool timelapse film.

I dissagree with the above post. I use the Sony UWF wirelss. I’ve been in a conference running 12 wireless systems at the same time with no intereference. I’ve use the sony wireless lav’s and handheld for 7 years with no issues and great sound.
We even did a head to head comparison with 3-4 wirless systems and the sony produced broader sound.
That being said, I still do some EQ sweetening.
Many people do use the portable recorder’s such as the zoom. I also use this on occasion, but a true professional would never record audio without montitoring the source. This is the draw back of portable recorders. Most of the time, you have to keep your fingers crossed that you have the audio and someone didn’t push the button after you started recording.

Have you considered using a slider? These are portable dolly systems that are self contained.
Here are two that I recommend.

DP Slider’s have roller based sliding sytem that are very smooth.glidetrac.com
Glidetrac just came out with a Hybrid Slider with bearings. The previous glidetrac’s tended to stick.
