Do the new macbook pros have an HDMI port? Or are you using an adaptor?

  • Have you tried exporting same as source? Or DnxHD? Does your product need to be delivered with the JPEG codec?

Interesting that they’re sending something to Broadcast as H.264 in the first place, why you would do that I don’t know.

I’m not even familiar with MTS, I’ve never worked with it before, but in a situation with mixed resolutions go with an HD Project setting, and upconvert the SD material.

I’m having a tough time remembering exactly. It was a couple years ago, but I remember doing a finder search for the .m2t files on the Z7U attached hard drive, and then just importing them standard.

If it makes any diff, that was a 1080i/60 project. Sorry I can’t be of more help. There used to be a thread on here that explained it more.

I used to shoot on the Sony-Z7U tapeless. MC v3.0 allowed me to fast import the .m2t files.

Yeah don’t online if you don’t need to. Doesn’t XDCAM 35mbps shoot into an MXF container? If they’re already MXF files no need to transcode. you should be fine. DNxHD is just generally the recommended way for Media Composer, it’s proprietary format. I was thinking you were dealing with MPEG4 video.

April 27, 2011 at 11:06 pm in reply to: Importing HDV footage from Sony z7u

I used to work with a SONY Z7U fairly often on MC3. My workflow back then was to just do a “fast import” off of the Z7U hard drive with color import levels at 601/709. I would do a general search for all .m2t files, pick them accordingly, and then import all of them. So thats something to try, I cannot say what the best 5.5 workflow is.

I cannot solve your issue as to why pieces of your footage is missing, do you mean sections of individual clips? Or whole clips altogether?
