it sounds like you want to basically make a snapshot if im not correct. Because thats what ONE frame is. If you go to the source or program monitor you should have the option to enable the button to take a still image.

your adjustment layer doesnt have to be over your whole track or every clip u can edit it to the length you need it to be over the clips you want to add the effect to

to do this with sto pmotion would probably take too long i doubt they did that

lol yeah apparently all u have to do is read .. see it here in the specs
– uninterrupted playback, which continues previews even while you modify effect properties and perform many other operations
