I was consolidating with 60 frame handles, so that is why the file size was so big. I just consolidated with no handles and the file size is 193 MB, almost the same. That would lead me to believe that the quality is nearly the same between the original and the mixdown, but it has been compressed one extra time. I have DVCPRO HD selected for everything, the footage is DVCPRO HD brought in off P2 cards so I keep everything the same so I don’t have to transcode before outputting to tape when it is needed.

    Have a great day,
    Brad

  • I have found that I can ingest shots into a 720p23.976 job and it plays back at correct speed. In the bin, the new clip is seen as 23.98 FPS but when you step through the clip in source monitor it has 30 FPS. How can the AJ HD 1400 60 output both a 720p59.94 and 720p23.976 signal via firewire from the same tape shot 720p60 on a varicam as I am able to ingest the same shot in a 720p59.94 job (plays back 2 x speed) and a 720p23.976 job (plays back correctly)?

The batch dig was going along fine, then started digitizing twice the clip length. When I watch these clips back now they run 2x speed. any idea why . . .

Thanks for your help, the modified sequence has been decomposed and is batching in as I type.
    Thanks again …

    Thanks for the response,
How do I go about modifying the job, the only options the Avid gives in the format pulldown menu is 30i 720p29.97 & 1080i59.94?
