720p60 shot tapes ingested into 720 job play back at 2x speed
Hopefully someone knows whats going on.
Tapes shot 720p60, loaded into 30i SD job for offline.
Then modify timeline to 720p60, open a new job 720p60 and import modified timeline and decompose it.
Batch capture, see timecode/duration on capture tool but it over records the clip, it exactly doubles the duration.
In record, the tape is playing back at the proper speed, and you can see this on the record monitor in the Avid.
When you go to play it back, it plays at 2 x speed. Even if you do a straight capture after creating a new job and new user (set in and set out) it still records exactly double. It doesn’t seem to be able to read the flagged frames telling it which frames need to be dropped and kept.
We have used this workflow for other HD jobs in the past and it has worked fine but that was using Xpress Pro HD software. We have since upgraded to Media Composer 3.0 and recently to 3.1.3.
I still have a tourism job 720p60 on the system that used many of the same tapes I am trying to input now. It used the same workflow as above also. What makes me think its not a deck issue is that the previously recorded clips for tourism job play back fine until you ingest new media which over records by twice and plays back 2 x speed. Once the job has been corrupt by the new media which plays back 2 x, then previously recorded clips (which prior to capture played back fine) can’t play back when called up in source monitor. If you power down/up then the previously recorded tourism clips can again play back correctly, until you capture some new media which has its duration doubled and plays back incorrectly. These clips for tourism job were captured for the proper duration, but they play 2x at start then grab a frame and hold till it reaches the end.I hope you have some ideas because I don’t like having to reinstall Xpress Pro HD and deal with possible dongle or any other issues at this time.
