Okay, so I removed the Kona card, and swapped the Intensity Pro over to slot 2. Then I uninstalled and reinstalled, and this time it finished installing okay. I don’t yet know if it will continue to work okay if I set things back the way they were now that the driver is installed fully.

That didn’t solve the capture issue though, it turns out that the PS3 always has HDCP enabled, even for games. Luckily the debug kits have an option to disable HDCP, so once I did that the signal came through okay for capture.

I forgot to mention that the flash got updated okay when I ran the downloaded driver, and the signal that I’m trying to capture from HDMI shows up fine when connected to an HDTV via HDMI. Any ideas?

Would I need to remove just the Kona card, or do the Kona drivers need to be uninstalled as well?

My source is a Sony PS3 development kit set to 1080i 59.94, and the signal is good when tested on a consumer set.

Thanks for the response Tom. I’m going to set it up that way and see how it looks. My company’s policy is to give old hardware to charity rather than resell it, but who knows – times are hard. If I don’t end up hanging onto it, and another one of our studios has no need for it, I’ll see what you’re offering and see if it’s enough to interest the powers that be into a policy change.

I’m also considering upgrading my Dell 2405 and DeckLink HD to a Flanders Scientific studio monitor. Those have scopes (albeit at half the frame rate), but maybe that will suffice.

Tom, I’m got a question for you. I have an old Videotek 330E that I have yet to integrate into my system. Can that be used for HD content? I mean, if I sent my primary out from my Kona 3 to my HD studio monitor, and then sent my secondary out as standard def to the Videotek and then out to my SD studio monitor, would that be accurate for HD, or would that not work since it’s designed with NTSC/rec.601 in mind?

So … what odds are you offering for a Phenomenon release?

First, backup the client’s Autosave directory. Then locate the newest autosave file that exists before the project type was changed, and see where that gets you.

Dang, well thanks for the reality check. I ran out of digibeta tapes on my last project and tried to print out to a beta sp since I have buckets of those laying about, but I couldn’t get my A500 to record to Beta SP, only read. Is the A500 deck supposed to be able to record to SP stock, or does it need an upgrade card to do this (if there is one)?
