Shoot a monitor connected to the camera’s output.
The camera’s output would be combined (video switcher) with anything else you wanted on the screen (keyed or dissolve-mixed.)

The mic input on most consumer devices is a “stereo” jack with a “Tip-Ring-Sleeve” connection.
If you want to place the mono signal (Plug would be only “Tip-Sleeve”) onto both channels, you need to plug your mic’s output into a “mono-to-stereo” adapter plug.

While that may have been a “good deal” for the station, it is a lousy plan for a small niche business.
You’d not want to place an “annual” on one station.
If you’re in a metro area, its likely that there are 20-30 (+) radio signals in the area.
Putting $16K on just one of those stations is not exactly “broad” marketing. -
One approach to help-
Add a neutral density filter (internally, or add it to the lens) and that will cause the iris to open up more.
That will cut down on the camera’s tendency (and ability) to “focus on the front of the lens.”
You could set the shutter to a shorter exposure time to accomplish this, but that can add visual artifacts (such as staccato motion) to the image.

Depends on the gear HE has.
You can use one of the following, depending on what kind of projector is being used,
Ranked in quality, from lowest to highest:
Composite (RCA “Yellow” cable from the camera’s breakout cable.)
S-Video (On the camera.)
FireWire (On the camera.)

Cellphones play havoc with video and audio gear when used in close proximity to the gear.
Cordless home phones should be fine.
