60 shutter IS the correct video shutter speed.
Anything UNDER that creates TOO LONG and exposure for proper motion. -
Are you SURE they are CLIPS?
As you edit for awhile, FCP will trash ealier (older) BACKUP files from the “Autosave Vault”. These are replaced by later (newer) autosave backup files.
The older ones will sit in the Trash until you empty it.

You can convert any mp3 to AIFF using iTUNES:
Here’s how… its really fast once you set up iTunes the first time like this:
iTunes> Preferences > Importing > Import Using: AIFF Encoder> Custom> 48.000 kHz, 16 bit, Stereo >OK
Drop your mp3 into iTunes window.
Select (highlight) the file you want to convert, then:Advanced (Toolbar Menu)> Convert Selection to AIFF
iTunes will create a new file (in seconds) with the SAME NAME as the original, but ending with .aif
You can set up a special folder for iTunes to send it to, or just use Search to find where it “defaults to” on your HD.Drag this new .aif file into your open FCP Browser.
The actual .aif file will (and can) stay in the iTunes folder, just its “reference” icon shows in the FCP browser.
It will play and edit just as any other media file in FCP. -
Use Hi-Pass Filter.
And/or 3-Band EQ with low frequencies rolled off and the 2500Hz frequency increased.
You want to cut out the low frequencies and amplify the highs.

To at least TRY an “external sync” to see if it makes a difference, just turn on any camcorder (you can leave the lens cap on) and feed its composite video output to the sync input.
If you find that you NEED this, a Horita generator will work fine. -
