  • Having trouble with a font in Title 3D

Posted by Dan Riley on January 14, 2006 at 12:50 am

I needed a font for the client’s product title. He emailed the font they use.
I loaded the Postscript 1 font into my G5. Now I go to Title 3D in my sequence
and I bring up the title, highlight the word, lookup the font, change the font,
I see the new font on the Title 3D screen, hit apply, and in FCP it changes
to a different font but not the one I just selected. I open the title again
and I see that Title 3D didn’t save my new font.
Does Title 3D only want Truetype fonts? This is a Postscript 1 font.
If so how do I change the font to a Truetype font?
    Is that possible.
Is there something else I’m missing?

    Thanks,
    Dan

Also, you might look into getting a TrueType version of the client’s font (or a look-alike).

    Thanks Matte. Great info.
I think I’m going to try doing something in Photoshop
and bringing it into FCP. I’m not a graphics guy,
    just a lowly editor/producer/director/writer,
so I’ll have to play around with it to get it to work.
I think I remember seeing a post somewhere that
explained how to do titles using Photoshop.
I’ll look around for it this weekend.
