What do you mean with tricky?

The header defines the FPS.
If you have mulitple FPS, make multiple ALE files.
You can sift on any header in the bin, so that is an easy task…

This definitly works, but you need the proper syntax.

After you figured that out, relinking only works if the TC and Reel matches, so it’s best to start with an ALE made from the already imported clips. If they don’t have a Reelname, assign one.
Also, the exported ALE contains only the info currently shown in the bin, so make sure Start, End, Reel, Filename at least is visible.

If relinking failes, another trick is to highlight the clips, then import the ALE with the option ‘merge event with known sources and create subclips’.

How many clips are we talking about?

create a new sequence, and drag a clip in.
Then, if FCP asks you to change the sequence settings to match your footage, tell it that’s ok.

But you will get nuts anyways.

Not sure how to do it with your existing toolset, but i have made something in the past that ‘ watched ‘ folders to see if a render was done. But that was for FTP upload, and it’s quite old.

It would be quite easy to re-use that code to write an app that scans if files, and move a file that is done to another folder.
However, that will set you back something like a box of beer.

I’m interested in the XML files broadcasters need.
I know the specs for the Netherlands, as well as the MXF file name conventions, but do you know what specs go for other countries? (Or where i can find them?)
