Just to add…After a couple of updates, it seems that the older versions of QT are still listed as an option to open. Should the older ones go away when you update?

Exporting files using another codec causes FCP or QT to crash. Normally, I need to export using the 844 uncompressed codec from FCP or right out of QT. Either way, sometime it works sometimes it doesn’t.

That is what I have decided to do. The project was sent to our AD for finishing. For me though it is a step I don’t like taking. I guess I will need to install AE on my system.

Just seems unusual that is plays after rendering at 100% scale and then gets weird after scaling.

    Thanks Jerry

Right you are Bret. We are in the process of adding the CW network to our digital channel and things have been nuts for 2 months. I just noticed the column thing and never thought to right click the columns where it would show other options.

    Thanks for the quick answer

    Thanks Wayne.

Never went into the video tab. I have read where the Normal is the same as the best in 4.5. And that Best is what is desired. I have corrected the current sequences and created a new easy setup.

MY RENDER SETTING IS SET TO 100%. My Timeline is set to 10bit uncompressed. When I place the pic on the timeline I get a green bar. I force a render but the bar stays green. Thoughts?

Dan is right on about lighting. Make sure that the light is right.

I shoot our talent on BetaSP. Then in post on FCP, I place the clip on track one, color correct it and then park play line on clip. Make sure the track is selected and F12 Superimpose. Add Gaussian Blur 12 pixels, for soft look right click on top clip set composite to softlight. For blowout look, set to add.

Interseting that today I noticed that the clips in the timeline are also blue in the browser. I do not remember manually highlighting them.

August 28, 2006 at 3:28 am in reply to: Keeping the Key channel

Thanks for the advice everyone. To answer a few questions…

I have produced a sports open to run for the local H.S. Football show. The last part of the open has a show local animating over a football field Graphic. I want the field to effect off the screen leaving the logo of the show displayed over a wide shot (camera) of the set. The open is produed in a FCP suite which I have learned cannot retain alpha channels. The open will run out of our Thunder, a pinnacle DDR. Now the Thunder and the Switcher can do keys if there is one embedded n the movie. So our Art director will create the ending of the open with alpha (via AE) and send it to the thunder for playback.

COuld I have created an animation+ sequence in FCP and then exported it out the same keeping the key signal?
