We have both in a Broadcast setting. The Avid is on the PC side, FCP of course on the MAC. Cost is a factor. The money you save on the “better” machine can be put back into your business. Both do very well, both are stable. It really depends on your work model. If you have more experience on a Mac go with that. PC, then go there. I like FCP more. I like Mac more. I trust the hardware and the software more. It’s years ahead of windows/intel. FCP is very flexible for me. The best advise offered by many is try them out and decide that way. Deciding by a sales pitch, other users’advise or whatever is never the best way to spend your money.

I agree about “fix what’s not right”. It seems that the workaround ideas there are, the more users there are that have had to deal with this for too long. Hey Apple, let us option, cmmd, shift whatever click key frames and copy. This must be an easy to do idea. What could be the down fall?

Yeah I usually do the beginning and end to have them set, then I create the middle move. After awhile I thought that there must be a better way. Guess not.

  • [JeremyG] “Well, I would be wary of the beringer”

We have several behringers and they are all great. Can’t answer to the mackie protocal but as for quality they rock. Also remember that Behringer sued Mackie (and won) for stealing design and tech ideas. So Mackie basically is a behringer. It’s just you are paying for “Mackie”

  • I 2nd Midwest Media group. Small enough to be affordable but they have enough history to make it all work right the first time. Of course where you live is important. If you just advise, then you could make due with the help here. If you need someone to set the stuff up, and that is the best way, then the companies listed so far are great.

Thanks all. The advise is right on. I knew better to repair with the App open. I did repair after closing all. Everything okay. I just wonder is anyone else dealing with this? Mine is not often but enough so to keep it on the “whats up with this” list.
