I have never heard it called a PMW1 (and I have 6 of them)…always an EX1r (or not r). That being said…you can remove the SDHC card and use it in a standard card reader. I only do this as a last resort if something goes wrong with my eFilms card reader, which almost never happens. I just seems a little klugy tome to remove it from the holder all the time. I don’t know why. Technically it WILL work.

I bought FCP X on Tuesday. I can’t figure out how to export to WMV so I went back to FCP 7 on the same machine. All is well in the world. I will work it out eventually.

  • I didn’t even know Media 100 still existed.

My Compressor skills are limited because I never used them before. Can I make a Compressor droplet with my required settings that i can use all the time?

I bought FCP X because I would really like to take advantage of the 64 bit processing for compression. My initial impression is that it is very, very fast.

I imported .mov files from my Final cut Server using file>import. Worked very well. I was able to choose an MP4 file from an SxS card but it only imported a green screen which is not exactly what I was looking for.

My biggest problem was converting to a WMV file but i digress….

    I will play more tomorrow.

That’s sort of confusing. I have Transfer and Clip Browser. Is XDCam Browser different and is there a link for the download?

So how do I get an SxS card into FCP X?

$50.00 per day for 16 GB

  • I’m being arrogant? I was just acknowledging that Sony fixed the problem on the EX1r’s. I take NO credit for that.

It’s Final Cut Pro TEN you idiot!

  • Which may explain why none of my six EX1r’s have had a broken tripod plate.
