It should be unlocked.
Did you record from a first card to a second card? If so, clip browser is looking for the orphaned clip which would complete you incomplete clip. Just a thought.
Also, have you try opening the card with XDCam Transfer which is another app that can be used. Sometimes you can import each clip individually without the orphaned clip and then find the orphaned clip later.
I try to avoid letting the clips run automatically from one card to the next because it is a pain.
I don’t have my editor at home so I can’t tell you exactly what the XDCam menus are.

Did you or someone accidentally or on purpose slide the write protect switch on the card?

Deleting clips should not be a problem. Did you try loading the SDHC card with out the adapter…just using an SDHC card reader? I have had more problems with the adapters than the card. Also
push the card in and out of the adapter a few times. Sometimes it is just a contact issue. When you load the card on your desktop and do “get info” does it show the card has data on it? I am sure it is there.
Don’t panic.

The output of the EX1 is controllable by the menu function. If they did not have instructions they may not have been able to figure that out. You can probably find directions on the internet.
Be careful.

October 14, 2011 at 2:39 pm in reply to: Sandisk 64 GbSDXC card compatibility with the EX-1The EX1r is easier to update the firmware than the EX1. You have to be at a certain firmware level to be able to upgrade by yourself. Maybe Ian will pop on here and explain and point you to the link. It has been discussed here before.

October 12, 2011 at 12:18 pm in reply to: strange issue with Ex1 and media, media error cannot proceedSo are you putting the cards into the Express 34 slot on the Mac Book? Did you try hooking the camera up to the Mac using the USB port and do a direct transfer? Just a thought.

October 11, 2011 at 5:13 pm in reply to: strange issue with Ex1 and media, media error cannot proceedI have a couple of questions: Are you using SxS cards or SDHC cards? Did you you put the card back in the camera the footage was shot with? Did you get a media restore request? And if so did you restore it?

October 11, 2011 at 12:14 pm in reply to: Importing from Clip Browser to XDCam Transfer causes judderingIt sounds like it is not an XDCam Transfer problem but rather a FCP problem. Is your FCP sequence the same settings as your clips? When you drag the clip into FCP it will ask you whether you want the clip to conform to your sequence. If you say yes the clip should play fine. If you have a different sequence setting you want to use it may not be compatible with your clip.

On my EX-1r the CLIPS are automatically numbered sequentially. You can set the FILE name to anything thing you want it to be and the clip number is always sequential but you can start it at any number you like.
