That is good to know and worth thinking about for the future.

How many of us really have projects that we expect to be projected in a movie theater? What am I missing? Is this REALLY true?

That is certainly food for thought.

Thanks for the heads up Mike. That’s one thing I like about this forum. This morning, I had never heard of DCP. Now, I have a decent understanding of what it is, and how to do it in Vegas.

I’m guessing the gamers use Vegas because they have found it to be the best tool for getting the job done. They have no vested interest in Vegas if there were a better tool available. That is certainly why I use Vegas. I could be using Premiere Pro, but I’ve done that and found Vegas a better tool.

You could create the graph in something like Photoshop. If you want the curves to be progressive on the timeline, they will need to be created separately. Then, you can reveal the curves in one of two way. You can set up a mask to slowly reveal the curves, or you can pan across a wide graph. Either way, use pan/crop with key frames.

If you need to render many small segments, simply bring the rendered segments back into Vegas, place them on the timeline, and render the whole. Use an appropriate intermediate file format for your segments.

It is not clear why you are not using Vegas to render the entire project. Are you encountering an error when you do that? If so, what is the error?

Please post back if you figure out what software is responsible for this so that everyone else can avoid it. Do you have a system back up that you can fall back on? That has saved my bacon more than once.

  • I don’t think they are talking about you.
