  • Blaise,

I appreciate your time responding to my post!

ANSWERS: I format the cards in the camera only. The firmware update did not solve my issue.

At the moment, this problem continues. I spoke with a large Chicago rental company, and they have never seen this problem. I’m sending it in to Sony for diagnosis and repair.

TEMP SOLUTION: In the meantime, I rented an Atomos Shogun for a my latest shoot – by-passing the internal recording problems. The HDMI outputs 4K, and the ProRes HQ footage from the Shogun is clean and looks great. This is a temporary solution for anyone having the problems I am having.

  • LOL – I probably should have mentioned that I blocked off the actor’s face!

I am shooting in Custom mode, UHD at 29.97. The Sony G-Series cards say that they are rated at 400MB/s Write, and 440MB/s Read. They are the 128Gb cards. I have three cards, and think I have this issue with all three, but cannot be sure (2 of them for sure).

Also, in looking for a solution, I realized that my camera’s Firmware was still at 3.1. I just updated it to the latest, 4.3.

Thanks for taking the time to reply, Tim.

We worked it out. He had an old version of Premiere and upgraded to CC2015. All is well.

    Thanks again,

  • Evan,

I am having that exact same problem working in FCP7 in an XDCAM-EX timeline that has a mixture of XDCAM-EX and AVC-Intra footage. The parameters are missing for the AVC-Intra footage.

I have repaired permissions, trashed preferences and have re-started. Still no parameter settings are possible in the Motion tab.

    Thoughts anyone?

You might be right, Pat. I certainly hope so.

I wonder if the new Motion is compatible with FCP7.

Yeah, I sure hope so. Multiclip is a HUGE deal-breaker for me.

    Richard,

The Civil War project ended up not happening for my client, so I never got very far with my research on multi-projector solutions.

    Good luck to you.
